Supermoto Trail Riding
Any physics majors care to take a stab at what indicated mph that would be with the 21" wheel? The 100 mph reading is with a 17" wheel.
They are KLX650R hubs and I'm assuming the spokes are from the same bike. The rims are spotless black Excel Tagasaka? Takagawa?...Taka something rims. They aren't spotless any more but I doubt there's much scratching from the other night if any at all. The wheels are IRC roadmasters or something. Felt pretty good on the dirt!
Took the bike out for a real twisty ride yesterday and they felt great. So much more grip. I can lean with confidence now.Babbitts online is your friend when buying parts from another bike to fit yours. You might see that a bike from 1996 uses the same part numbers as your bike from 2009, as I did. I also just noticed that Dennis Kirk has an option that lists all bikes that fit a certain part, but not sure if it does that for OEM stuff.
If you want to be able to switch between motard and dirt wheel sets, there are a couple things you need to get.
2 extra rotors, an extra sprocket, bolts, and an extra chain. Plus whatever chain tools depending on your chain. OK you don't NEED that stuff, but no one really wants to swap all that out every time you wanna change the wheels.
Hope that was helpful. Speaking of multi-bike parts, does anyone know if any of the new KLX450R parts fit our bike?
It's no Enduro-cross either, but if you think about all the guys on VSTROMS with non-knobbies tearing up the trails, than this bike should have no issues!
OK, those guys aren't tearing up the trails, but you see what I'm getting at.

Those are Excel Takasago wheels from a KLX650. I am looking for some more at the moment, will put them up when I get them. Price varies, depending on how much I get them for on auction over here, ranging anywhere from $500 - 700, also depends on condition and age. Definitely cheaper than new. Not sure how to re-calibrate the speedo, I would just switch to Vapor or use GPS.
