Hey Rich,

Not at that go kart track but there is another track about 20 mins out of town where they have SM races, and yeah thats a good idea, but I don't wanna swap too much stuff each time I ride so I'll just be careful where I park.

that's funny Doug, of course you can see that pic is posed lol
Garry,
Be careful if you try the SM thing with this bike. I don't care what anyone else says, the brakes on the KLX 250 are not even close to acceptable for this task. Take a ride on a real SM bike (KTM 560 or equal) and you will understand. If you go in knowing your brakes stink, you will be fine. I just don't want you to get hurt.

Thanks for the concern Joe, I'm well aware of the bikes limitations, I only got the wheels cause I mainly ride road and the knobbys wear out too quick as well as offer less grip. I kept my original rims for the times when I ride dirt. I have no intentions of racing. I only took the pix at the go kart track for "atmosphere"

Cheers

Mind if I ask how wide the rims are?

+ what kind / size are the tyres?

Thanks!

The tyres are Dunlop Arrowmax GT 401's

rear 130/70-17
front 110/70-17

not sure of the actual rim sizes

hope this helps

Just a follow up, the side stand now has the bike pretty vertical you have to be careful where you park and the speedo is now way out. At 7000rpm I was doing 110kph with the 21" wheel, now with the 17" the speedo indicates 130kph @ 7000rpm. This won't be a problem once I finally get my Vapor as its easily changed by inputing the correct wheel diameter.

Cheers

Well not sure if it will pan out or anything But I may have a contact for D-tracker stuff.

I was looking on the internet the other day and I came across this post on a forum from a guy who is suppose to be in japan who is looking for someone to send him Mercedes Benz parts. Seems they have issues getting stuff over there too. People told him to just contact MB and he stated he did but they told him they didnt sell / ship outside the country. Seems he is looking for shop manuals and other stuff.

So I PMed him back and told him That I might beable to help him but in return I'm looking for D-tracker parts and there only available in Japan. I tried to send him a email instead. But he had his settings configured to not show his email address, Hence the PM. He was last on that forum like Sept 9th so we shall see.

Might work out pretty good. As long as he sends me the money first and includes shipping I would be willing to order stuff from MB and ship to him. This would be of course contingent on him sending me any d-tracker parts I wanted. I guess the thing that would kill it would be the cost to ship stuff and could I trust him But i'm sure he would wonder if he could trust me. If I do hear from him again and we try to do this I will order something small and cheap to verify the process is going to work.

Sure would be nice to be able to get any d-tracker parts I wanted. [8D]
We shall See and I will keeps you guys up to date if I hear from him.
