I still like this forum better than the KTM forum. I like your post and enjoy your input on bikes plus you know a lot about the KLX. Besides your KTM looks bad to the bone! I think we all like to see pictures and hear about other bikes form someone who is considerate and doesn't talk about howtheir bike is so much more powerful than ours... I think you know who I am talking about.
Yeah even though I sold my KLX I still enjoy stopping in here and seeing what's going on. If I had the spare $$ I'd buy Chris's that's for sale and become an owner once again. The mods to open it up, even big bore and carb and the fully monty really aren't that bad. I'd do it again.
It'd go a lot quicker the 2nd time around now that we've got the blueprints.

I couldn't have said it better. The fact that you don't constantlytry to impress upon usthe revelation that a 400-450cc bikemakesmore power and torgue thanour 250's is another plus.

Your always welcome here Brian, you have contributed more to the KLX forum than anybody. Even though you now longer have the KLX please stick around.
Cheers

Brian and some of the others on the forum are the ones who make this a great place to share info. I really don’t care what bike anyone rides or where they post, that’s not what its about. Its about having fun riding safe and making new friends, sharing ride info helping out the other guy, what I don’t like is some asshat that does'nt ride and act's like they do, the corner store does'nt count Go fxxking ride your klx's the way they where meant to be ridden, you my be surprised in what it can do, not what you think it cant. I’ve have put well over 5000 miles on my klx in a little more then one year and have gone places I would have never dreamed of, if you push her, she will perform. And if you think I'm taking out my ***, just look at where she has taken me ,sorry there isnt any pics of 711 for you corner store guys [sm=laughat.gif] [sm=icon_beat.gif]

I starting to think I might sell my KLX and find one of these. Only for the fact with the right upgrades there is Suzuki SM that could hold it's jock strap. My friend Charlie has been getting over 100 horses on the dyno with his motors. He is not really big on dyno's because his motors seem to smoke most of the other real high power sand drag quads. He likes to say he could put a go cart wheel with his bike and get really big HP # but since he runs paddle tires, the point is mute.
People in Oregon running RZ, TZ, Banshee know who he is, and the guys running the other stuff know too.[sm=badbadbad.gif]

Here is what I thinking with a 10 mm stroke, flat slides, big bore kit. 510 cc twin It will be more street then dirt but there is not a 600 cc single or twins that will stay with it.
PS -I really will still keep my KLX 250 because it does everything I want it to do!! Sweet little bike. Here is the other one.

Ahhh....tthe 2 stroke effect.....don't even get me started.I left a '74 Rd350 that I built with Banshee internals for my KLX. Yep ...it is 2 different worlds but without the maintenance requirements of my 95 hp 2 stroke twin.sure it was a personal engineering marvel for my own personal rights but it was no fun besides in a straight line.that bike was great tho.....there was nothing from 1000-4000 rpm then when my moto-carrera pipes came in it would either blaze the back tire of or it would dump you on the ground on your rear.......the 5000-11,5 hit would kill you.I had the stator lightened and dipped so it wouldn't fly apart over 8500 rpm and it made the world of difference.I could not ever compare the klx to the RD as it would just be unfair......alow in comparison,......yes but a slouch no.As for the FOOL who mentioned previously that they would run the woods on a dry day on their SM tire against on of us....c'mon and lts do it.....I got over 700 miles of VERY DRY rock strewn trail for you whenever you are ready to be embarassed.I will leave you at the pickup trucks when it's time to go.Please do not go talking out you butt on this one.....you will lose.....sure you will outcorner me on the road,,,,...but I don't ride much real road so you will lose....anytime your ready let s know......I'll even use my STOCK tires for the run.
