Default super deluxe $2 tire changing stand

i saw a post where someone was using a drum as a stand
while looking for a drum of the proper size,
i realized these would be perfect for the task at hand
rotors and reg sprockets fit just inside the open top

i had cut 4 pieces of garden hose to line the top, but...
had some pipe insul left over from making a cross-bar pad
just the perfect amount of cushion and grip for the wheel

its the perfect height for working, and getting some leverage
im too wise (read that as old) to be working on the floor
throw in some heavy junk for a little weighting

i didnt have any tire levers for carrying on the bike, so
this set was $30 at GC. alum levers with 32,27,22 and 10/12mm
i dont really like GC, but this is alot of bang for the buck
the same thing orange branded is about $90

NICE set of spoons! I wouldn't mind adding those to my kit. Who is GC?

sorry- CG = cycle gear. not my favorite business model
i try to support my small local guy as much as possible
their equiv in bicycling is killing off alot of small indy cycling shops
CG (or others) will most likely affect small MC shops in the same way

dont worry, i traded the milkman some thai-stick for the crates

You`ll have to let me know how you like those Shinkos. Heard mixed reviews.

Nice idea for a stand!

Great idea. I'm on my second rear shinko 244. Its a great dual sport tire. Seems to wear longer than the kenda version. I run a track master 2 up front for a little extra bite in the dirt. It lasts as long as two rear tires. Love this combo on the street and dirt.
