Suggestions?
Hey guys, new here, looking for some suggestions.
I've been researching some of the naked entry level sports bike 90's SV650's and what not. And these dual sports look like an absolute blast to drive, especially on the trails a blue marsh up here in PA. I've never owned a bike before, mainly because the parents felt when I was younger I was too crazy and would break my neck. Had a gocart and what not, that was fun don't see why a bike wouldn't be a great thrill.
Anyway, the bike will probably be used in warmer weather(55+) as a daily commuter. I'm going to be going to UTI, it's a 30 mile commute one way.
I'll get to the point here, I'm looking for a bike that is bullet proof, known for reliability with high mileage and can see speeds of 65-70mph every day for over an hour and a bike that's also economical. Buying new is pretty much out of the question for me, really anything that can be had for less then $2500 will be thoroughly looked at.
If I should just keep looking at strictly street bikes just drop me a line here, I'll move on, heh.

RE: Suggestions?
your not gonna find a used one for 2500.... might wanna look at another bike, and it sounds like you want a street bike.... 30 mile commute a day? the klx wasnt made for that and 65-70 on the highway.... not real good for it.....

RE: Suggestions?
Well I had this post all ready to put up and IE froze, grrrrrrr serenity now!!
Anyway I had posted you should look at the Honda XL 650 or the Kawasaki KLR 650, both better bikes for highway travel. Oh and the seats are a lot more comfy too.

RE: Suggestions?
I dont find the bike that great for the street, aside from the quick little burn i go here and there just to go for a ride. I've been in the process like many turning it into a more dirt oriented bike than anything else. I'm going to get a fat boy for the highway scene.

RE: Suggestions?
There's a couple KLR 650 from the mid 90's in my area and in my price range.
Any must be done preventive maintenance on those older models in particular? Still hold the reliability of todays dual sports? This **** will be ridden every day, when whether allows.

RE: Suggestions?
Ya you need a bigger bike than this if you are going to ride 60 miles a day on the highway. If you still want a 250 you might look at a Ninja 250 aka EX 250 or 500. I have an EX 500 I use for a track bike that is really fun and easy to ride. I am inthe process of selling it,I already have a buyer. Sorry. If you want a dual sport look into a bigger one like the 650's.
