I always pull mine back in a pony tail and then put about three more elastics down the length of the pony tail. It works good. Also braids work good too, but my hair is layered so, can't really get a decent one in . Good luck getting the knots out (detangler for kids works real good), long hair is such a pain in the rear sometimes!

Ok, I have gotten a few rats nests in my hair when I forget my hair type. Get your hair wet and find a really good conditioner. I use L'Oreal. Leave the conditioner in for like a half hour, when in the shower rinsing the conditioner try using a combo, not brush to brush out the nots while the conditioner is rising. (your hair is really silky here which makes it easier) Your not going to get all the knots and you might have to do it a few times. Took me three times doing this to get my knots out. Oh, and of course your going to loose some hair.

Next time like bluebird said braid it or you usually see the harley chics wearing it, but it does help. Those leather holders. http://www.discount-leather.net/wimage/FH5006L.html

This is something I never thought I would read in a motorcycle forum.

Not complaining - just interesting. heheh...

How about tucking it inside your jacket? I don't know how well this works - I'm not a girl, nor do I have long hair... all I know is that as a guy... I love long hair on women... main reason I always cry when my wife tries to get hers cut.

What works for me...

A ponytail and every inch put another holder all the way down...or

After I put on my helmet pull it all together like I am going to put it in a ponytail but instead tuck it down in my jacket...or

A hair wrap.

So long as you all take it out and let the hair flow when the helmet comes off - it's all good by me.

For some reason, whenever I tuck mine into my jacket - it comes out anyways and ends up in a huge mess.

Glad that you guys are understanding about the odd problems some of us women face when riding. I've seen this topic come up before on another forum (which has a women's only section). The guys there still made fun of the ladies for this topic.

I will never, ever, ever cut my hair short. (short hair makes me look 10 years old for some reason!!!)
