If you're using a 3/8" drive, I don't think it will work - there'll be too much interference with the frame tube.

Oh, and it's not a 3/8" nut...it's metric. I can't remember if this nut is an 8mm, 9mm, or 10mm. Everything is metric on this bike - if you don't have metric tools, stop and get some, or you'll inevitably end up rounding off some nuts or bolts.

Good luck.
Hey Rogers and Lutz,

Rogers, I think Lutz is right, if I recall I used a deep socket with a wobble extension, which allowed me to get to the nut while avoiding the frame. A bit of a pain, but it was doable.

Lutz, negatory, I had no idea about the new part, the one I got was the old design. By the way, I noticed on CheapCycleParts that the part shows as being 'replaced' by a new part number, this must be what that's all about. I wish I knew...

Good luck Rogers, and let us know what happened.

Sorry about the delay. Yes, the bolts are 8mm and that nut is 10mm. I had to use a wiggler and a short 8mm socket on a 1/4inch drive. Lutz, I've read your other thread and my replacement part is the older style from 2006/2007 bikes
