Default STOP tip-over fuel leaks

I'd love to say I never tip-over, but… Each time it happens, I have to shake it off so I can quickly lift the bike to avoid losing more fuel than I have to. I recently discovered this Free Flo Vent Hose: https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...1171&idd2=5237

which then lead me to this Billet Vent w/Check Ball:

What fuel tank vent tube should one of these attach. Do you think it will work? if so, it would be a great mod, wondering why factory doesn't do this.

I put one of those little check valves on mine and it works fine.

I’m not speaking of the cap. I’m intending to put it on the end of the vent hose. our bikes don’t have your cap unless you’ve swapped fuel tanks for an aftermarket

Neither am I.
Fuel tank vent hoses are all the same except for the length. The cap on the end of your vent hose will need to be oriented vertically as pictured for it to work properly. There's a little ball that falls to the bottom of the cap allowing the tank to vent when it's in the upright position. You can hear it rattle inside if you shake the cap. When the bike tips over the ball moves to the top blocking fuel from leaking out.

thanks tooter. Do you know what hose it is on a stock tank set-up? I guess I could tip my bike over and see where it leaks.

Sorry, I didn't keep track of what went where when I removed everything, although I believe the tank vent hose would connnect to the emissions cannister.

The IMS 2.7 tank eliminated two pounds of emissions equipment along with that huge tangle of hoses under the stock tank. Now there is only one hose from the fuel pump to the injector, and one little fuel vent out the top of the cap. I highly recommend the larger tank. I keep gas mileage logs as I use my KLX for daily transportation. I average over 80 mpg which makes the effective range over 200 miles
