Hmmm after reading several other threads I have looked at the signatures and noticed about half of us have done many of the mods except the exhaust.

The exhaust seems like a MUST.

Not doin the exhasut must be a Noise only issue?

It looks like some well placed perforations are all that will be needed.

 

This has become a little confusing to me. If you are using an exhaust from the 250/300 off road versions there is nothing to cut or drill. All that is needed is to remove the "butt plug" if it still has it. Two bolts only, 30 seconds. It can be run without a tip but an aftermarket turn down tip keeps the soot off the fender and quiets it down just a touch.

 

No no, the old KLX can has a larger pipe going into the can and is lighter....what its missing, I don't know, but its lighter. As well as having the plug removed.
