Yes we have established that. The issue is not figuring how fast I am actually going.

why have a speedometer if it isn't correct?? It's a street legal bike. Streets have speed limits where I am from. Therefore you need to know your speed. It's a simple concept.

Speed limits are over rated. Where do you live? Everyone here drives at least 5-10 mph over the limit almost all the time.
Once you get used to the 10% thing it is pretty easy, take the left number and subtract it from the right number and you have your corrected speed. I don' t drive on the road that much and don't pay that much attention to the speed limit, it's not like the bike is going to be doing double the limit in 3 seconds.

lol thanks. I don't need a math lesson. If you don't want to use your speed I great, start a thread called speedos are overrated.

Knowing mine are off 10% means if I'm showing the speed limit I'm going 10% slower. So when I'm indicating 10 over odds are I'm still not in ticket range on the highway. From what I observe on the roads not many people pay attention to them anyway.

Fact is I hate the digital speedo and LED tach on my bike. You actually have to take more time to read the speed instead of glancing at where the needle is relative to the face. The tach sucks because it is hard to get a feel for the change with the goofy block read out versus the speed of the needle sweep on a regular analog tach.
