Sidestand wobble

In my recent experience, danpluso, those kind of stands suck... I took one of those right back and got one of these. Maybe Canadian Amazon has them... I know it's an issue.
Keeps the bike super steady and is easy to raise and lower, with control. Way better than that foot activated joke that seems designed to tip the whole mess over when you step on that lever. Just no.

That swing arm stand works on more than just a flat bottom off road bike. I use it on my Zephyr 550 with the exhaust running under the frame.
As for my favorite flat stand I got a foot lift that works fast and easy. It was home made, I made a few more when I was teaching in a metals class, it worked so well. This is the production versions some sell. Slide it under the bike and stand on the lever. A toe under the lever, lift, and the bike drops down, all while holding the bars and seat.
But the screw style work very well.
Now back to the side stand issues. After thinking about the spacer solution - I'd stay with the nylon washer, won't rust and slides nice. If it needs replaced no problem.

Part of my reluctance to use one of those types of stands for a 300 lb bike that’s 70ish inches long springs from my years as a professional photographer. I never did care much for monopods, especially for expensive and heavy cameras/ lens combos : ^ \
i just didn’t like turning my back to a bike perched on such a thin column, especially when wrenching on it.
But I’m new, so…
