Default Side bag question

I purchased a pair of soft side bags for my KLX. I am a little worried though about the location to mount them. I am planning on putting them on the rear over the back side plastics. Do you think the plastic over the muffler could get hot enough to cause a problem with the bag to melt?

I am looking at a pair of soft saddlebags, specifically the wolfman enduro ones. I think they'll be fine with the heat but would be interested in your results. What brand did you get?

The Dirtbagz come with a steel frame that holds the bags at a safe distance from the exhaust and wheel.
The bags also clip onto this frame which stops them moving about so much.

I got the softbags from Walmart. They are for an ATV. Anyways, they are not super big, and do not hang below the plastics, so maybe a frame is not necessary. My main concern is that since the bags lay and fasten to the plastic, it may not let the heat dissipate from the muffler side plastic and then melt. Would frames create a space between the bags and the plastic?

thx for posting those pics neilaction, I also had a set of soft-sided saddle bags given to me recently. I was thinking about making a little framework to keep them from rubbing against the exhaust and plastic and your pics will come in handy when I get to that point.

Worth noting that Dirtbagz sell the frames on there own. $120.

They fit well but you lose the rear foot pegs as this is one of the mounting points.

You can actually keep the footpegs but you do lose the ability to fold them in. I do carry a passenger occasionally so kept mine. Just hope my leg doesn't get swept back into the peg at some point. Ouch, that would hurt.
