Should I upgrade my 2012 KLX250S ?
Lol, yep that is what my trials buds call them also. I'm glad Honda got in there with them I feel safe going more than a mile from the truck now. I'm still a bit leery about some of the euro brands. Altho I think that they are just as dependable as any thing else now days. Maicobreako, blowtaco come to mind. Can't forget the BSA ignition.

The original Montesas were pretty darn good too though. I personally rode Bultacos, but on the trials course they were pretty much heads up, the rider was the difference. Still are fun rides regardless of age of the bike or rider. I never really had any problems with the Buls. Even knew how to adjust the clutch for perfect engagement/disengagement.
Thank goodness I never dealt with the Lucas stuff.
I wasn't being mean to the Montesa/Bultaco, I rode a 200 surpa[sp?]s, that thing was a sideways fool[turnsleft as in flat track
]. Bultacos were way before the term rev~limiter and they would rev till they came apart. And most the people that had trouble with the Maico tried to ride them like a yahonkawasuki. The local Maico dealer here blew up two 501s before lunch at one race, next race it was a 400 radial that let go.
Any way the KLX is a great bike, 351 it jet the carb and have a good time. I always have a good time on mine. And that is the name of the game, right.

I ran a 175 Sherpa S on the short track for a couple summers...

Sorry about the crappy picture, a Polaroid taken the day I traded it off for a TM125 to go harescrambling. It was a 1972 Cadillac dark blue metallic with the white stripes, a Pursang front fender on the rear, side cases finished in wrinkle black, with a six port cylinder I did, stuffed crank, and a Mikuni VM32. I never got to race it with the rebuilt engine and tricked out cylinder that really picked up the power. Wish I'd have kept it, a beautiful bike.
