Shift Star Fix- Detailed Write-Up?

Just make sure that the collar(92152) that fits over the shift shaft is seated properly before you try to tighten down the cover-you will break the cover is you force it. There is a sticky thread that has detailed instructions on how to repair this problem

Ok folks, I followed all of information I could find, replaced the shift star, put it back together, and now the bike won't shift at all. Dowel is straight. What did I do wrong?

You need to verify that the ratchet mechanism will rotate the shift drum. You should be able to manually rotate the drum while rocking the rear wheel- this will tell you if the problem is inside the trans or if it's in the ratchet mechanism.
