Default Are shaved down seats still comfortable?

Anyone shave down their seat a bit? Is it still comfortable? I’m 5’7” with a 29” inseam … So, when I buy my bike in the spring I’m considering cutting 1.25 inches of foam off the seat but I’m curious if that much will make the seat very uncomfortable to use?

Thanks.

I would say if you get the seat flat as possible, do the MX step seat style, it will probably be okay. I know one of the thinnest seats I rode on a street bike, the '83 Honda Nighthawk 650, was one of the more comfortable ones I rode, due to the generous flat area and the width.

The foam is quite dense/stiff and uncomfortable even to begin with, leading me to believe that shaving some won't make much of a difference.
