Saturdays ride in So.Or.
Well I didn't get to ride last weekend so I was anxious to ride this Saturday. Bill and I met in Jacksonville for gas then headed out for Applegate Lake 30 miles away.
This picture was taken a couple months ago, I forgot to snap one on the way by, notice that the lake looks full. On the far side ,the Southern end we turned off the pavement and begun our single track ride up the Stien Butte trail,Man was it narrow I didn't even stop for pictures it was too intense for much comfort.
On the starboard side of the bikes (south) We were in Northern Califonia and the trail runs mostly
east west on the border between Oregon and CA.
View of Applegate Lake from the L.O.
That snow capped moutain is Greyback and Poodlenuts is at home baking brownies or babysetting or raking leaves or cutting wood or something on the other side about 15miles away. Doug the sun is out the ground is just right with the recent rains, 45 degrees in the morning and high 50's later on .
The trail we rode in on is just visiable in the center of the picture.
Squaw Lake from the South we are headed to the North ridge and Squaw Peak more single track in the bald side of the butte.
On the north side now looking back south
Squaw peak lookout
Hey Bill thats poison oak your standing in
Some snow on the back of the lookout

Looks like a good time had by all! Man, I envy you guys with singletrack trails to run on. That was the best part of the NJ ride for me, the tight single track and the firebreaks.
Snow, not cool...I don't wany any of that until at least December, you West coast fellas can keep that for a while longer[:@]
