Smile Rossini Racing Engine Mods

If you are interested in engine mods take a look at the following:

http://klxforum.suncup.net/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=678

Basically my bike was ported, cylinder milled, flywheel lightened and carb re-jetted. I previously did the airbox mods, Q4 w/power bomb and dynojet kit along with every weight saving thing I could do.

The difference is very significant for the cost. The bike was much more responsive but the icing on the cake was going to a 13/45 setup. First I did the 13 and it was "a little" better. The 45 on the rear made for the perfect combination in the woods.

Now when Im out there I feel like Im on a 4 stroke version of my old KDX200. No, performance still is not that of a 2 stroke - cant expect that from a 4. But it is now a very, very capable woods machine that can run with the best of them.

All I need now is IMS to make the tank!

this is definally on my list of mods to do. im probably going to go in the order of big bore-head work-cams. by then, this thing will rip. kinda curious how mush of the fly wheel he took off, i might take a small amount, less than 10%, but no more than that, i dont want to lose torque.

The crank weighs enough that i don't think you could hurt your lug and chug much by taking what you can off the flywheel. A friend took almost 2 pounds off a xr280 and thing still lugged like a XR, Contrast my 250x crank weighs nothing and adding 12 oz to the flywheel made huge difference.

Sure whoever cut his flywheel weighed before and after? Nice to see the spec?

Pumper carb would be the frosting on the cake if you use your bike offroad exclusively, which a 13/45 you must.
