The more I think about doing this 331cc mod on my 09klx250s with head, valve and cam work the more I know im way beyond my capabilities in terms of wrenching. What im looking for is a thumper/racing shop in socal that could do all of the work?
Any ideas would be much appreciated!!

The 06-07 were not legal in cali... so you will be own your own, and most people do it themselves... its not too hard, but the dealer could do it, but they would know for sure the warranty would be voided... good luck.

 

If you do just a 300cc you might be ok.

I don't care about the warranty. My dealer, I think not, as Jose in the shop can't speak english and is always looking over his shoulder for the INS helicopter, se habla. I know Cali has some great engine shops.... they are just hard to find via Google.

Jerry at Four Stroke Works in Hesperia isone of the most knowledgeable KLX mechanics in the country. He has done all of my engine work, big bore, cams, carbs,etc. He is semi-retired, working from his home, and can sometimes be a little slow. His work has always been exceptional for me and I admit I can be a little **** when it comes to the details.Other shops in Ca. that I have heard good things about are ESP(mostly known for suspension but also does good engine work I'm told), and LA Sleeve.A riding buddy of mine sent his WR engine from Ca. to Kustom Kraft and had excellent results.
