To many Miles??
I'm looking at a 06 klx with 1200 miles for 3500. Obviously he's not getting 3,500, but i wondering if u thought the miles were to high...If not, what is considered to high for dirt bikes and why?

RE: To many Miles??
Actually, that is about the right price. I paid $3600 for mine with 1,800miles on it. It now has 4,800 miles and still runs good. Other folks on this board have many more miles than me.
Too high mileage is when the engine doesn't run right any more. And that could be any where from 100 miles to 100k miles. It really depends on the use and up keep of the bike.

I bought my 04 klr (basically the same engine) when it was two years old with 6500 miles. The owner was a retired aviation mechanic and had recorded valve maintenance and oil changes, the bike was like new. I have kept up the maintenance and it has 10,500 miles on it and still starts and runs like new. You just have to take care of it.

1200 miles? Dude that's barely broke in. I have 7600 and EMS has more than that, heck Tony had over 13,000 and he still got a great price for his bike. Git-R-Done

RE: To many Miles??
I bought mine, brand new, left over 2007 with 0 miles. Paid $4000, and they paid the $500 to ship it 1700 miles by truck. Means I paid $3500 for a new 2007.

RE: To many Miles??
Back in Feb I bought a new 07 for $3950. With plates etc out the door was just under $4400.
$3500 good deal? It depends on what is available for bikes in your area, whetheryou want new vs used, and what shape the bike is in. You really don't want to inherit someone elses problems. If the price is right, and the bike doesn't look beat, you will probably be ok. Try waving $3000 cash under his nose.

Yea thats what i was thinking. I live in NJ. If you know anything about nj, you'd know that dirt bike riding is very scarce =) So finding one is very difficult. I seem to find most in NY and PA.
I'm still waiting on a reply back on the bike as far as its condition.....i'll let u guys know
