Default Ride Report - Goldbar,Wa

Hi,
Two of us went up to Rieter to ride this last Saturday. It was a wonderful Northwest, misty, sloppy, kinda cold day. I am riding a medium modified bike (see my signature), my friend only has put a 13th tooth sprocket on his 06. Well, in short, power was king, but he got through some tangles better than I expected. The 4 wheeling rock crawling machines "found" this place a few years back. It has eroded in a very serious way. Most of th trails now have 3 -12 inch rocks very deep in the trail. This place was always a rock bed, but the top layer dirt is washing away rapidly. A lot of single tracks are now jeep trails. Anyway, I had to put some Trials moves into action twice due to this. We went down a steep trail, and were committed to get to the bottom. Getting up it required some finesse (and snappy POWER) to get over some bigger rocks. I tell you if I had my DRZ, I would have ended up taking that thing out in pieces. The KLX is light enough to where you can do some of these moves. The DRZ I had, man, when that thing would get out from you, it was going down..... Once the river (creek, whatever, it RAGING), subsides, it will open up the north area. Perhaps that has not been blown out yet.
