I had the opportunity so I went for it. The speedo is 5mph off, so really it was only around 85. I knew it wasn't safe but 65 mph or 85 mph you're still gonna get hurt a little at 65 if you do fall off. It really wasn't bad at that speed. I'm only around 155 or so and it was quite stable. If it was windy at all I would never have attempted it. Boy there wasn't a much sweeter sound at 85 mph than the biggun screaming up an echo as I flew down Hwy 92. That pipe just sounds tough as nails at any rpm. As far as my sporty, I've had it around 100 or so and it didn't have much left if any. It's still an 883. But like you said, if you want to go fast you'd a bought a sportbike. I've been there with the 170 mph capability in my hands and it's just too darn tempting for me anymore and I had to get out of it. Nothing like the torque of a HD anyways, not to mention the stability in knowing that you can at least get back what you pay for the thing if you do want to sell it. Buy a crotch rocket anything and you will lose at resale time. I don't care what brand it is or what country it came from. The only crotch rockets to gain in value in the last 15-20 years are old REAL ZX7R's from '91-'92 and the old Z1R Kawis and mint condition Z1's. But then I wouldn't consider the latter two crotch rockets, they are in another group of bikes that are becoming collectibles.
