replacement stock sized dot tires

RE: replacement stock sized dot tires
I'm running the AC10 up front.
I've got almost 2000 miles on it now. It is a full knobby tire. It works good on the street, it just doesn't have very much feedback. The tire wear is a little weird. The middle ***** are barely worn. The next row ***** are more than half worn out and they are worn at a big angle. The next about 1/4 gone and the outside is not worn at all. I should be able to go another 1000 miles easy.

Michelin AC10- anyone ever try this tire? It looks to be the one right now as it is dot and comes in stock sizes. I've never bought a Michelin anything tire. Any testimonies or opinions? Thanks

I was thinking of those too. They are M-Rated(Up to 87 mph) so that should be enough. Looking at the big gap between the treads, it looks like it may be a little spooky on asphalt however...

Scat, how are they offroad on the KLX? I have used the Trail Wing series before on other bikes and they are great on-road and virtually last forever but it seems like the offroad performance is quite compormised?

the reason I want to keep dot is because they're rated for higher speeds than non dot tires. I once took my KLX to near 90 mph on a long straight just to see if it would pull redline in top gear. these tires are rated for speeds near that i think. so no one has really answered my question- any dot besides the crappy stock in 100/100? pirelli, bridgestone, michelin, etc. no dunlops please.

90mph huh, Your a braver man then me. I wouldnt dream of pushing the little klx to those speeds. Hell I seldom push my sporty to those speeds. I guess if I wanted to go that fast or faster I would have bought a Sportbike. Good luck in your tire quest.
