I'm getting tired of the brittle stock fork guards on my 2007. They've both broken from putting them on/taking them off. Can't wait to see what happens when I start abusing them offroad.

IIRC I can put some older KX forkguards on in their place. Anyone know what years fit?

Also, I like the simpler look of the guards on the newer SF models. Cleaner with no guides required. I know my 07S model has longer travel than the newer SF models. Does anyone know if the newer guards will retrofit to the older bikes? If retrofit do I need to go with an aftermarket front brakeline as well?

dan888 has an excellent writeup on the installation of the UFO guards normally intended for an older KX...can't remember the year. I have them on mine and they are outstanding. They're not made out of that brittle crap like the OEM versions. They're inexpensive too.
