Hi all. Just bought my first bike, a 2012 KLX250S, and bent up the clutch lever in a minor transgression of stupidity. Should I replace it with OEM or something other? Thanks and if there are other resources that answer to this, I'd be grateful for a link. jf

 

Don't worry about it. I broke off an inch of my clutch lever within the first week of riding. I just smoothed out the burs with a file and left it.

If it is still operable, you may want to wait until you get handguards before replacing it. Thats what I'm doing.

 

Time to get barkbuster or acerbis guards. Best investment ever.

i have stock oem levers if you need...or, you can order some cheap chinese ninja 250r adjustable levers...just don't get black or colored if you get the chinese stuff (it fades)...but, it works fine....get the regular silver....

 

Put some buttons on the ends of those broken ends using marine-grade shrink tube. First one about 1+ inch long, half on, then bent back over itself to give extra thickness to the front. Second piece larger diameter slips over both of these. Heat em up and they stick great.

FWIW, I cut mine down to 2 fingers width. This way I can clutch and hold on at the same time through the really rough stuff. It also makes it short enough not to stick out from under the handguards, like it did before, part of why I cut it, it bent in a crash.
