Default reasonable sale price for '09 klx250s?

well....i might have to give 'er up. Just wondering what a reasonable sale price would be. She has around 4000 miles. FMF pipe with about 6 rides on it. Dynojet jet kit. Moose hand guards. Ricochet Skid Plate. Pro taper bars and clamps. 13t sprocket.

any ideas?

I know this is a different market but I just paid $3.9K for a red '09 with 600 miles on it, excellent shape, no extra's.

If I would have found a bike like yours up here and it was mostly street miles I would've been interested in it but not for more than $3.5 if stock, a little more with the options on it. With more off road miles not so interesting in my opinion, unless they were gentle off road miles (does that exist?).

If I were you I would sell the pipe and skid plate seperate as you will not recoup their costs on the sale. For the bars and hand gaurds not sure of the value or the trouble to remove them but maybe also consider selling those seperate as well.

BTW, I just ordered the FMF Q4 but I might be interested in the skid plate!

Good luck with the sale, sorry you have to let her go though!

yeah it is a bummer but times are lean right now. It has seen some dirt for sure but I would say the majority of the miles are highway/backroad miles. bought it as a commuter/light duty trail bike.

4000 miles on a dirt bike. No more than the very low 3000$ range. My bike was 3800$ with less than 400 miles on it, a showroom perfect shine, full warranty, etc. That was a few months ago too.

I just recently paid $3200 for my 07 that had under 700 miles on it. It had the 13t and the jet kit, the license plate remounted and under fender removed and came with a matching helmet and an extra synthetic oil change (and every receipt from purchase to sale. It had less than 3 square inches of scuffs and was otherwise pristine and bone stock. I felt that was a pretty fair price (blue book put it at 3000 without consideration of low mileage and obvious signs of care or mods). It was spotless, and meticulously maintained by a machinist.
I would look at a couple of blue book values for it, but I think the miles is the real kicker on yours as there seems to be a fair amount of these available with low miles. I just saw a 2009 on ebay with a buy it now of 3,700 or so, but with only 1400 miles, garage kept, and clearly immaculate (and stock). I think with 4000 miles and whatever evidence of dirt riding yours has, even with the mods you might be fortunate to get that much or less depending on your local market.

Big thing, clean it, clean it, clean it. Take it apart and clean where you couldn't get to then shiney it up some more. Got really scuffed plastics? price the replacements cuz a clean new-looking bike is gonna carry a lot more weight than one that's all scuffed up or faded even if it has some miles. If you've got receipts for your mods, that's good too. Plastics can add more than their cost in visual value if what you have isn't looking it's best. Showing the real cost of mods can help incentive a buyer too, especially if you add a healthy description of how much difference they make compared to stock.

I just paid $4200 out the door for a brand new 2009. I was pleased because I didn't have to pay the BS handeling and prep fee. I tought that was a fair deal.

Plastics for the 2009 are super mega expensive. I've had to buy a fender for 65$ and a right side radiator shroud for 73$. Those are in my hand prices.

Douse the plastics with diesel on a rag and they will shine like new for the photos. Getting the buyer to your house for the purchase is the biggest part of the sales game.
