Does the chain have enough slack? Too snug will do funny things, surging feeling etc. Post a pic of the left side.

I agree, unless your wheel it not pointed straight, and the chain isn't isn't at an angle inward causing sprocket wear don't worry about it. It could be a Kawasaki design with the sf wheel spacers to eliminate chain rub.

I just checked my "S". It looks like yours. Off to the right about the same amount. I would say it is normal.

Thanks for looking! I appreciate it.

And thanks for everyone else's advice.

As far as my chain, it's been raining all day today, and I can't post a picture. But I'm almost certain there's enough slack.

When I was cleaning it, I did notice some tight spots at specific areas of the chain. And if I bump the chain quickly, it makes a kind of chatter. The same kind of chatter that's far more loud when I'm riding down the road. It increases with speed.

Perhaps it's just the chain itself...

I'll examine the front sprocket when it stops raining/tomorrow.

Bah!

I'm pretty sure you'd have problems with the rear brake if you'd swapped the spacers, so that's probably not the case.
