"re: need wiring help--kill switch"
Jason (mudjunkie) is having posting issues so he asked me to post this for him.
"I have a new kill switch/start button assembly I want to install, but it differs slightly from our original assembly. Our original assembly uses 2 sets of contacts on the kill switch that work as follows. One set is "open" when the switch is extended, the other set is "closed" providing power to the start button. When the switch is depressed, these switch states and the the contacts that were "open" now "close" "killing" the engine via shorting the CDI to GND. (as far as I can read from the schematic) My new kill switch only uses one set of contacts that provide power to the start button when the switch is placed in the "run" position. Question: Can I still use the assembly and simply "kill" the bike via turning the ignition key to "off' without hurting anything? Any help is greatly appreciated."

Personally I never used my kill switch. Well let me take that back, I used it twice, and both times I got distracted and left the key on, which resulted in my battery going dead. since that time 4 years ago I have never used the red button again. I use the key every time.

I tweaked your account a little, not sure if it will help, but let me know. Have you tried to create a new thread in all areas? Or just in the KLX 250 forum?
