If the front is too high, you have to use the rear brake to bring it down.

Of course, but the front shouldn't have been too high to begin with, so I was curious if my technique was wrong (which it was)

a jump this small i dont think tapping the breaks will level out the bike, sure that works on big table tops and doubles but honestly your not in the air long enough on a "jump" this small to make mid air adjustments. just have a good consistant launch and have fun.
