Default Question for the Clarke owners

Has anyone noticed if the triples hit the tank when the bars are at full turn to one side or the other.

When I full lock to the right I have slight contact, but at full left it hits pretty hard.

I might see if I can clearance the underside of the triples so they don't hit.

The fit is not that good IMHO but I haven't noticed the triples hitting at all.
I will also have a look tomorrow.

My tank does not hit, however I slotted the mounting tabs on the bike to allow the tank to move back.

Wow, the crappiness of that Clarke tank is pretty astounding. [&:]
Being that it was the first and only tank ever made specifically for the KLX250S, it seems to be the worst fitting as well.

That's pretty harsh Kawi Wawi. The Clarke tank isn't as bad as you make it sound. It does what I ask it to do - nothing more and nothing less. Perhaps some people's expectations are a little too high. Most of my issues have to do with Kawasaki cutting some corners to keep the pricepoint down.

It all fairness though, today I would probably go with an IMS 3.2 gallon tank and skip the fans since even in 110 degree heat in Arizona I don't hit the fan at all. For twice the price we could always go Orange and avoid some of the mods and upgrades we do to deal with our little bikes limitations.

It is harsh, but what the hell is Clarke doing?
- the mounting holes don't line up right
- the fitment of the stock plastics is **** poor
- the brass fittings in some cases are hitting the frame rails
- some people have had to shim the rear mounting bolt for clearance
- everyone's tanks fit different

On that note... I am running the Acerbis tank, and hauling around 3.7 G of gas when I can only ever use 2.8 of it...
So who's the stupid one? (me)

I am running a 1/4" shim under the back mounting bolt so the tank clears the FCR, but i don't think it would make a difference if it was there or not.
