Just a real warning here. The KLX250 was never designed to do high speed runs. The front fender is basically a big wing and can cause a light front end which could lead to a tank slapper. I experienced one on my KLR650 at around 90 mph and it's will put the fear of God in you.

Do not attempt this at home. We are professional amateurs on open public roadways - all lack of precautions have been taken.

My front tyre started bouncing at about 93mph once - easily solvable.. Our mystery member did say his bike was stable and felt fine at triple digit speeds..

Seriously, For me, the power improvement would seem to allow 2up touring - you know, windscreen, bags, perhaps tour pack?

I grew up tuning 2-strokes with big pipes, 4-strokes are more strait forward even with a cv carb.
Did some riding today and had to fatten up the pilot circuit a fair amount which was a suprise (must be 3 turns out with the #40). Bike runs great, great mid range punch for a 250.
I'm riding an sf and have the small acerbis front fender so I'm pretty stable at speed.

Too many deer around to do extended high speed runs but 80mph is pretty effortless now.

Not sure I'm ready for two up touring, but no clutch - engine only wheelies are easy now and she'll cruise 80 mph with throttle to spare.
