Pro tapers and barkbusters are on!!
Firstly the barkbusters didnt fit on the stardard bars - i dont really like triple mounts. So tthis meant that i HAD to get new bars. So we took ourselves (yes the wife and kids) to the grand opening of the new Kawasaki dealer in Mackay. I checked out heaps of bikes, watercraft spares etc. I was checking out the KLX 450 as the aussie model comes standard with barkbusters and renthals which have a really nice bend - not sure what they are. ...
Anyway i ended up with pro taper 7/8 in the KX high bend - they are bloody great - i am still using my 20mm bar riser kit and everything fits great. Glad i have barkbusters - i stacked it twice yesterday as the steering takes a bit of getting used to - it feels so much lighter. I had to new grips as well - i did get them on with some brute force, but is there an easy way to install new grips??????

I got the barkys from ballards - they have them in stock. I got myself some and got some for my young fellas TTR90 - barkbuster minis. $125 each set (including mounts) so that was $265 in total for both delivered to my door.

125AUD, and worth every cent. I have already managed to bend some levers and have almost busted the handguards. The Barkbusters offer excellent protection and they look great!!.
The main motivator was my boys TTR90. It was 3 weeks old when i thought "maybe i should get him some barkbusters" 2 days later he stacked big time, busting the electric start button, snapping the throttle cable + housing, ripping the grips and just general carnage on the flightdeck. I managed to improvise a bit to get his flightdeck going - now it only needs some paint and its good as new!!!
So when i ggot his barkys i just couldnt help myself and had to get some for myself. 125AUD from Ballards...definately worth it!

Air compressor with a blow gun or small tipped nozzle, around 30-40 psi. Get the grip starter and poke the nozzle in and give it a shot. The grip will blow up slightly and slide right on. You'll have to do it a few times as when you move the grip it breaks the seal. About 6 shots does it for mine usually.
