Don't lay the bike over with the petcock still on.........you'll get a nice puddle on your feet.....been there done that.

Its not from the petcock, its from the carb bowl, unless you have ran it out of gas with the petcock off you will always get it... its dumpin gas from the carby.....

Yep, tweek the spring a little.

1st time I used a dab of greese. 2nd, 3rd, & 4th oil change, The spring was tweeked. Made changing the filter so much easier. So easy, I decided to change the oil at my work before I went home.

My bike is used to taking a nap on her side ...... I just dump her in the garage and put the filter in. I did the grease trick once, too much work, dumping is faster.

I use the lay it on the side method. I do run the carb dry before I do it though. I mat look into tweaking the spring next oil change.

Laying your bike on its side (opposed to tweaking the spring) is like spinning your car to tighten the oil filter. It will work but it sure is an unnecessary and awkward step in an otherwise easy process.
