The Amsoil is $12.00 a quart, but who cares, its the best....or so I've been told. Kind of like Dodge trucks are the best right? hehehehe

Although I would love to get another one of these. The Chevy was the truck I grew up with, it still means a lot to me. Of course our 72 didn't look like this.

I agree the article is dated. But one thing on friction modifiers which are put in engergy conserving oil for better gas mileage. This is found in lighter oils such as 10w-30. Oils 10w-40 and up do not have friction modifieres in them.

Well it was highly recommended by the dealer and other mechanics I know, but I might see if the parts store can order it in 10W-40, if I lived in a hotter climate the 50 would be better, I need to look into this. Thanks Eric for the reminder.

Trust me, you'll want to think about the 20w-50 weight when you live in a hot climate. Here in Oklahoma, the summer's average is around 80-100 degrees F. But right now, it just getting too freaking cold to ride. And I just changed my oil.

Oh, great news. I just found out that the Wal-Mart in Moore, OKsells the Mobil1 4T Racing 10w-40. And its still only $8.39 a quart. . Guess I'll be changing my oil yet once again for like the 5th time in 8months/ 1400miles.

Deej, very nice Dodge Cummins. Just a little FYI, Never make a mistake at the pumps and fill it up with Gasoline. Pumping 30+ gallons out of the tank is not fun.

Some of you guys take your oil serious I just use15-50 Castro Syn ~$5/quart......never had an issue, but I change it like EMS does.

Deej.....EMS is right about you running 20-50 ......didn't you just have ice falling out of the sky lol, put some thinner oil in that puppy at your temperature...... I wouldn't run higher than 15-50 even in my florida heat, btw its still in the 80s down here.
