Thanks for the replies...I'm a Landscape Architect so I have to go from site to site on occasion. Changing into work boots at every site would be a complete drag...but you have all made good points about what to look out for.

I have some chippawa steel toe boots that are no bigger than my regular chippawa boots. You'd never know they were steel toe'd(?) just by looking at them.

I flew fighters in AK and we used Danners (would stay on during an ejection) which are great for riding also. I would wear these boots for over 16 hours/day and they were very comfortable, plus they are Goretex lined. Highly recommended.
