Default Boot question

I am looking into buying a new pair of riding boots. I really want the Alpinestars Vectors, but I also want to stay below $150... So I have narrowed my choice down to the Fox Trackers, or the Thor Quadrants, both of which I can get for $139.
Does anyone out there own eithor of these boots, or can anyone give an opinion? Or if there is another pair out there for around the same price that someone can recommend that I may have overlooked.
I currently own a pair of Gaerne's that are about 10 years old, and there pretty beat up.

Thanks for any opinions you may have,

Kris

I have the Fox boots. I was stuck between the MSR mxt's and the Fox Trackers. I bought the Tracker in metallic/black. Comfortable for the money and they match ok. I have one size larger than my normal and they are still a little snug so if you order online be sure to try one on at the shop first. I have not had them long so durability is still a question though they seem tough enough.

I bought my boy Trackers, and they are very nice boots. I've also always owned Fox boots, although not Trackers, and I would highly recommend them. On a side note; you might check out the AXO Slammer boots. They are a shortened motocross boot. They don't provide shin protection, but I think they would be a very practical boot for dual sport riding. I'm going too pick up a pair for the days when I'm on the road a lot. You can check them out here..http://www.motocrossgiant.com/PhotoG...=axo%5Fslammer

I have a pair of Trackers as well. Paid $140 for them. Can't fault them for the price. I was riding while wearing some leather 1/4 boots once - in the middle of an "error in judgement" - I learned a valuable lesson with picking what boots to wear. I landed on my butt - bike landed on my toe and hyperextended my ankle. You won't catch me riding in the dirt without my MX boots now.

I have Trackers, only used them twice so far so good. I'm not fussed on the buckles but they generally work. The boots feel (fit) better than a couple of cheaper boots I tried on.

the fox trackers are nice boots for the money.both my riding buddy and my wife wear them with no complaints other than a hard break in period.i wear a pair of alpinestars tech 8 boots, those are amazing boots.the alpinestars are made better and will last much longer than the trackers, kind of like an old baseball glove.once you get them broken in they just feel right and will last forever.if you can afford the alpinestars go with them, you won't be dissapointed.the trackers are a good recreational boot but the alpinestars offer superior protection and comfort, they are the "cadillac" of boots.the alpinestars also come with an inner bootie for ankle support and protection,i think it's what makes them feel so comfortable it's like a custom fit.both are much better than over the ankle work boots though.just think of it as another mod for the bike that usually makes it not seem as bad on the wallet.remember the old saying:"dress for the crash, not for the ride".

onestar99-alpinestars has a tech 10 and another boot out i think it's called the vector but i'm not sure.they are sweet.they also help make tech 8's affordable if you don't want to spend that much.if you have alpinestars now other boots will just feel inferior.cowboy up and get ya some new tech's now you'll love them.j/k

A little advice for breaking in tight boots.

Put them on.

Wipe them down liberally with rubbing alcohol.

Wear them until dry.

The alcohol makes the leather "relax" and mold to your feet. Once dry, they will hold their new shape, a direct mold of your feet. A few leatherworkers I know have suggested this and it works quite nice!

I also bought the Fox Trackers down at Pro Calliber Motor Sports in Longview (Hey Dave) Any way I just started to wear them and in fact I actually wore them on Saturday and let me tell you deej got his bike dirty, and not only that I stood the bike on the back fender, I'll post a new thread about my adventure. And maybe a couple of pics.
