Not so invisible being white/black. With the various colour schemes there are now there is the potential for some interesting mix 'n match combos.

Wow, I never thought I would see a white KLX.

Weird how Canada gets not only a 2011, but they get different colors?

The Japanese know how to design and build up-to-date and very competent motorcycles of every kind. They just don't generally believe there's a market for a high quality DS bike. It's a shame, really.
Yeah, I don't quite understand what makes most of them so hesitant to make anything truly competitive in that market segment. The rapid sales of the WR250R despite the higher price and stagnant U.S. economy should send a message to Suzuki, Honda and, yes, even Kawasaki.

I'm sure Kawi could bring to the market a more state of the art KLX at a price that is noticably less than the WR...they're very adept at sort of thing.

I was actually lusting after the WR250X for while, but, while it's a very capable little bike, I can't justify paying nearly 9000.00 USD equivalent OTD price here in Japan, once you do the dollar to yen conversion. That's obviously much worse than what you'd pay stateside for the same bike, but I can't help but think Kawi could do a meaningful upgrade to the KLX and still beat Yamaha on price point.

I was at my local Kawi dealer last week and he has five KLX's on the floor, two motards and three of the dualsports. He also has the last of three 2010 KLR's he was allocated last September - it's been on the floor for 13 months. They even threw in a Two Brothers racing exhaust and rejetting but it's still sitting there.

This isn't a high volume urban dealership, either. The five KLX's could have been his entire 2010 model year allocation, still on the floor. I've heard Suzuki is only going to release a couple of 2011's, and most of there lineup will be carryovers.

I sure like the KLX... it's the best looking of all the 250-class bikes. I've been thinking of getting one to have as a lighter-weight bike for trail running, since my DR650 is kinda big for that sorta thing.

Doesn't somebody make a 330 kit for it? I bet that wakes it up pretty good.

I've had my KLX for about a month and a half. I wasn't impressed on the ride home, underwhelmed is a good way to put it. But once I had a few rides in I could see alot of potential here, only then did I check the internet and find out my buddies 1986 XL250r had about 6 more horses stock than what I had in 2010. I didn't let it get me down too much as the bike was better everywhere elso just down on power. It would still run 85 or so down the highway with ease. I've since added a 13 tooth counter sprocket, FMF pipe, and a Dyno jet kit with the air box opened up and it's a different bike. I like it alot and it's still a 250. Maybe some day we'll change that but for now it's a darn good bike and I have no regrets. I'm going to wear this one out I think.

I've got to agree with the positive posters here. My '09 KLX has been really good to me. I've put 4500 miles on it this year! I can't tell you how many times I've been stopped at a light or at a gas station and people have told me how awesome it looks. One guy even wanted to buy it from me right then. As a commuter bike, it gets great gas mileage (80 mpg), has adequate power, and can handle expressway speeds. I'm still riding mine here in Michigan, where the temps are in the low 30s now in the morning. While I have no cold start issues, the bike is a little sluggish from the first few stops--and, now and again it does require a slight turn of the throttle to get it started. But other than that, no issues and very easy to ride.
