Default New "slide spring" w/ jet-kit - How important?

Had my friend install a DJ jet-kit on my klx250 (along with slip-on and filter/kdx200 snorkel) He forgot to put in the new slide spring that comes with the jet-kit. At this point, everything seems fine. He's not the greatest mech in the world so I think I should be happy that the bike's running pretty good now and I'm really hesitant to ask him to pull the carb again. But just wondering about the slide spring... Where exactly would I notice the benefit of changing it out?

I think that the new spring allows the slide to move more easily compared to stock. The older kits has you drill a larger bleed hole in the slide to get the same effect. Bottom line-put it in.

Less resistance on the slide=faster climb through the RPMs. Put it in and go a bit faster, but not that big of a deal if you are happy with the setup.

You don't have to pull the carb, just the tank. You can get the cover off the top of the carb and swap the spring with the carb in place.

The drilling of the slide or the installation of the lighter spring helps one of the main weaknesses of most CV carbs...sluggish throttle response. Definitely worth it.
