I can't believe how small the water jackets are on that head. I'm use to looking at a CR.

Hope this picture comes in. This is the chain tensioner, one large 12mm bolt in the middle, and two 8mm bolts on either side. In order to manually adjust the tensioner, slowly and evenly remove both 8mm bolts until you hear a click, then put them back in tight. I did this last week, and now my bike runs without the rattle at idle or at 4500 - 6000 RPM's.

If it is something it will break before 9 more months.

Yeah im just gonna ride mine till she brakes if she even does

ddt, nice work there. So I take it you leave the big 12mm bolt alone then? If so that sounds super easy. You had the same problem then and now its gone, eh?

nice, thanks.

Yes, the big bolt holds the spring in. You may have to break it loose to move that washer over so you can get a socket on the 8mm bolt beside it. Be careful to only click it once, ad then test it. I had to take my tensioner all the way out because I let it click more than once, and didn't want to chance having the chain too tight. You can't feel the click, but you can hear it.

Thanks, that explains it. I still one side question though, what did you mean though by you had to take it all the way out to reset it? That confuses me even more. Wouldn't taking the bolts out just tigthen it, or does it work by taking all the bolts out completely unhooks it form the inside and it goes back to its natural state? If so, thats one of those things that I would have to just trust you on because without seeing it I would have no idea how that would work lol.

I took mine for a ride today, and your not going to believe this but from what I can tell it doesn't do the tapping anymore. However, there is a small vibrating rattle once in a while. For instance, if its in a low gear and being revved something vibrates, which sounds like something from the radiator area. It also does it on a hard deceleration. Anything to make the whole bike vibrate. This just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

To reset it, you have to take it all the way out, and reset the ratcheting device, which comes out when you remove all three bolts. Careful though, the 12mm bolt hold in a spring. If you do this, be sure to remove the 12mm bolt first, and put it back in last.

Glad to hear your noise has changed, I think. Hope you can get it located and stopped.

One thing to add, after you put it back together, start it and listen. It will probably need to be adjusted out a click or two. I had to do this after re-installing; it sounded terrible, and I thought I did something wrong, but it just needed a couple clicks out, and all was quiet.

That video was the cam chain noise, i already had the rattle noise taken care of it was the balancer gear that was rattling on my bike, a C clip came out... if there is a rattle between 4500-5500 thats the problem.

then this happened to the tensioner...

Where did the piece go? Did you find it, or did it make itself known in a bad way? Hope all is okay.
