Default New HMF w/ Quiet Core For Sale, $200

$200 + $15 shipping to anywhere in the US. The box says it fits 2006 - 2009. I paid about $260 for it last week. I'm saying it's new b/c I mounted it to the bike, started the bike and revved it a few times, then removed it and re-packaged it for sale. I was afraid it would be too loud for my riding area and I was right... I'm very dissappointed b/c the pipe is a beautiful work of art. It is the polished one that's oval in shape w/ the removable turn down at the end. It has the removable quiet core insert & spark arrestor screen. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but I packaged it up as fast as I could b/f I changed my mind. It sounded very nice too compared to my pea-shooter boat anchor, sigh...

I prefer paypal. If interested, email me directly at crf450x@yahoo.com.

Thanks,

Mark

FMF Q4 w/powerbomb for the win!

Really quiet when you're putting around, but under load and over 4500rpms and it starts to open up

Even on my 351 it's really quiet when idling and putting around.

I have the HMF muff w/ the quiet core and at idle it's very quiet. It's pretty quiet too at the lower rpms. I live in a very peaceful community yet never had a problem. Yes it gets loud when you wail on it up to the upper rpms.

If the HMF is too loud, then the FMF Q4 probabbly is too. It sounds like your stuck with the stock can. Too many grouchy neighbors around where you ride?? If so the stock can will probably bother them too. good luck.

The quiet core costs an extra $25, but I'm including it free. I agree with everyone that says it's quiet at idle & low rpms, but everyone knows that this bike will be revved to the moon every other second!!!! If I was going to ride strickly on the road, I wouldn't worry too much about the noise, but I ride in some off-road areas where I must have a quiet bike.
Thanks

all the after market muffs w/quiet cores are rated 95db +/- a db. So in reality there all about the same. I like the FMF Q4, and would buy one next time (maybe) it would match my head pipe! You can modify the quiet core on the HMF as I did to get it even a little quieter. But the more you button it up the more you loose. Nothing comes for free.
