Default need some input on a header damaged during shipping.

This big gun header was damaged in shipping.. looks like the metal piece the bolts connect to the cylinder with was never taped/tied in place during transit so it scraped up the pipe pretty good.. sellers offering me 12$..... or a new one which could have the same thing happen as they are all shipped from big gun.. one of them is pretty deep but i don't know if it will have any affect on the pipe.. heat/stress could cause cracks maybe? what do you think?

No theae done have a place for the header sheild to attach, just the pipe. The gouges look worse in person im just wondering if it will hold up well its not a very thick pipe i feel like my rm250 pipe is thicker.

Is that 304 or 316 stainless tube? Should be alright but it will turn brown with heat + it grows a lot with heat.

"The Big Gun Evo Racing Series was designed to deliver maximum horsepower & torque gains throughout the RPM range. Made from .035 stainless steel tubing the Evo exhaust system is much lighter than stock units"

I just told him to send another.. i cant believe how thin these things are.

$12 is nothing, i would ask for $50+...if not, have them pay for the return and ship you a new pipe....

I'm sure the pipe would work just fine, but I'd ask for a new one just out of principle. They pay shipping both ways. They gotta learn to wrap it better.

That scratch won't cause any structural weakness to the pipe, but $12 hardly seems like proper compensation for what looks like pretty significant cosmetic damage. I'd ask for what I paid for. Their inadequate shipping process is not your problem.
If you want to take the $12 however, I bet you'd remove the scratch with a piece of emery cloth.
