Need some info.
i was thinking about that, but wouldn't i loose suction inside the air box or affect its performance in any other way if i leave it open air could pass through there too ?
Nope.....it's before the air filter. What little extra flow wont affect anything a bit. Air will flow easier thru the inlet air snorkel easier any way. If anything you may see a gain of performance....maybe 0.000034 horsepower.
That's the "Al Gore Approved" part of the bike. It catches moisture and oil that may collect and expel from the airbox so that you can dispose of it properly and not let it irresponsibly drip onto the road or nature's wilds.
Most of them fall off after a few hard trail rides. IIRC, the drip port is on the dirty side of the filter so no worries about dust getting into the wrong side of the box or funny intake pressure problems.
