I will have to take a look at it sometime, I have a tool tube mounted on that side as well that I would have to move I think.
I usually make templates like that also, should be able to figure it out.
I would also think that if your AL brackets are 1/4" thick that you should be fine, just keep an eye on them.

jtice - I wonder if there would be a way to mount a tool tube to the Rotopax tank or to the plate that the Rotopax is attached to?

Here is how I had mine setup for a while.
Pelican case bolted to the rack, Rotopax mount bolted to top of Pelican case.
Worked well, but it was alot of weight up high, and it was putting alot of force on the bracket.
You can see the tool tube on the left hand side there.
Just have to play around one night, hold things up there and see if there is room for both.

I really like the whole setup you got going there. Is that the Pelican 1400?

So you guys with a 1 gal Rotopax.
Do you guys think it's possible to mount one low and closer to the CoG like this pic but still have clearance to shift, steer, and lean the bike.
Any chance you could string/tape your Rpax around here to see if it still clears common riding positions?
Then if its do-able maybe post some pics.
It just makes sense to have that much fuel/weight as low and centered as possible.

7.8 litres (2 US Gal), was made up for a 1500km road trip, worked well, could not feel the weight at all, would not us off the seal.
