"Susuki Motard" also equals gobs of torque and power. just in case anyone wants to know or cares how much power and torque a DRZ makes, here is a lot of info including detailed dyno graphs:

It may be weird looking to some, but it does make good power and torque. I love it.

RE: my new bike
Nice bike! I was inches away form getting a yellow SM all modded up when I got the KLX. I really needed something more dirt worthy and I knew I wouldn't take off the street tires. They sold it before I could get back to the dealer. I think motards are thecraziest thing to hit the streets. I have more fun on my new supermoto than any other street bike I have ever owned. Just get one in some reallytwisty mountain roads and you will have no problem keeping up (or outrunning!) sport bikes with over 100 HP more than your little SM. My KTM pumps out a healthy 57 HP at the rear wheel and feels like much more.
I can't wait to take the thing to Deals Gap for a run down the Dragon!

Brian,
Do you recall where you ended up with the jetting on your FCR 35? Main, pilot, needle slot...?
Thanks,
Bill
Brian,

Needle: OCEMN
Clip Position from top: 4th (I'm pretty sure)
Main Jet: 145
Fuel Screw: 2.0 out (I'm pretty sure)
Main Air: 200
Pilot Air Jet: 1 out
Eddie Sisnero recommended:
Pilot: 45
Needle: OCEMP
Clip Position from top: 3rd
Main Jet: 145
Fuel Screw: 1.5 out
Main Air: 200
Pilot Air Jet: 1 out
I ordered the OCEMP needle but received the OCEMN which has slightly different dimensions, so I tried to compensate with the clip position. The larger pilot richened up the idle circuit a bit which I found made it idle better. It seemed to run real well at the above settings at my elevation and the 50s to 70s temperatures that I did most of the jetting in. I ran with no airbox lid, UNI filter. I did not go so far as to remove the backfire screen, though.

Thats a different thought than the Husqvarna you had your eye on...
... why the change of heart?

Brian- thanks for the heads up on the clout of that guy. He does sound like he knows his stuff. While I don't have any plans on piping or gearing the DRZ, I am as I type planning on looking into the "3x3" mod. If it's worth up to 2 more horse, I could see myself doing it. But I don't want to go hacking away at my new bike just yet.
