My First Dirt Bike
Me being an young estren hillbilly and before i had my drivers permit my neighbors have a farm feild they bought with 130 acers of woods & feilds. And in one of their garages was a dirt bike and they said their kids were to young to ride it and if me and my buddy could figure out how to start it we were more then welcome to ride it around their property. It Was a 76-78 Suzuki 250-370 Thinking a 6 speed and now it would do 80 down the road with me and my buddie on it.And thats pretty much all i can remember cause i was really young and dumb and all bout fun and not caring back then and still now.
Heres Some Pics There Not Exact But Something Around What It Used To Look Like. TheOnly Side I Remember It When I Seen It Was Old Rusty And Dusty And Unrode Till I Came Around.
1978 SP370

1976 TS 250

And it was pretty much like riding a bike but alot more fun and didnt require peddling which is what really brought me to a smile. And could be played with in the feild and driven down the road if i was old enough and had tags... I was around 16 at the time and 23 now.
And if it makes anyone else feel younger id like you to share your story on ur first bike.

My father had a yammy rd 350, but I was to small for that bike. He bought my mom a 70 ish honda 100 to learn on. I remember my dad running down the road alongside my mom, but to no avail as she crashed in the ditch. She never touched the bike again. My brother who is 5 years older used to sneak the yammy out, in between beating me up, when my parents were sleeping , or out and about. After my parents divorced when I was 13 I started to take interest in 2 wheel motorized vehicles. I used to sneak the little street honda out into the trails behind my house. As I got more confident I picked up the pace, and got more brazen with the bike. Well as all good storys goe I f,d- up, and planted the bike into the side of our garage, which had a stucco exterior. The bike was toasted, and the garage had a nice hole in it, and I had to explain this to my dad. Up to this point my brother got blamed for every motorized vehicle breakage, since he had a history for "borrowing" them. As I remember it, this was the end of innocence so to speak. Shortly thereafter my brother left for the navy, and I was home alone. My dad was all right and bought me a honda xl 185, which was my first bike. I promptly trashed that bike, so he bought me a more "worthy" offroad bike which was a kx 125. This is where my love of the lime green machines developed, and continues today. Just in case your wondering that sappy fellow Deej didn't write this for me, even if it bears a strong resembelance to his handiwork:-)
Great stories guys, keep them coming, maybe this could be the thread to talk about how we were first introduced to riding. I'll post mine sometime soon.
