MX Racing a KLX250s
A few weeks ago i got alot of flak for wanting to race a KLX250S... I can understand why with the frame and stock suspension it has. What I want to know now is what people think about racing the KLX250S in a sportsman series.
For those that have no idea what the sportsman series is, its a MX race on a normal MX track, however if your wheels leave the ground, your disqualified. I think racing something like this will be fun, and save the bike from alot of greef.

Sounds kind of like scrambles racing was before it became motocross. No penalty in scrambles for having a tire leave the ground, but few if any places on the track where this would happen normally.
Sounds like a lot of fun. I raced Vintage MX a couple of years ago on a 1965 350cc BSA and it was fun. In Vintage MX there might be a small jump or drop off on the course, but mostly it was like the scrambles from the 1950s.

There's tons of hare scrambles, hill climbs, and enduro events you can race, with very little upgrades to the KLX required. Sportsman races can actually be faster than regular mx racing, since they don't waste any momentum in the air. The faster you can get your tire back on the ground, the faster you can start accelerating again. If anyone is racing their KLX in any type of event, please start a new thread and post pics of the KLX in competitive racing.
