Default KLX250S MX Racing!

I know this might sound crazy, but I'm going to start hittin the track with this beast and most likely hitting some doubles, triples, and clearing acouple 30-40 ft tabletops. I don't wanna bottom out the bike and screw it all to hell. I'm only 160 lbs but does anyone recommend getting some aftermarket fork and rear springs? If so, what kind and where?

Yes you will need them! Get them from motopro, and add about 60 lbs to you weight when you order them. They have a calculator on their web site.

Whats the reason behind adding 60 lbs?

Be careful, suspension aside, the frame and weight of this bike aren't designed for jumping. Just sayin.

But if you do get serious air on the KLX, pics are a must.

it'll help some with the bottoming out when you over shoot a landing plus when your really hit'n it in the chop the suspension won't blow thru the stroke. 60.lbs is a bit much but you get the idea

first things first, just by the pictures your are no where near readly. go get your self the fallowing : fork springs, i would recomend motopro .44 for you (im 145 and use .42s). rear spring (not sure what spring here, i thought i could get away with just the front but i think i need rear too, still messing with settings). new tires, trackmasters for tracks, 606s and even worse stock just arnt enough, trust me. barkbusters cus you will drop it. beyond that is performance, but the list wiould be the min. atleast. i need to go back to the track, last time i was there my forks sucked and the 606 front clogged in seconds and i was sliding everywhere. now i got new springs and such and a 908, should do better. now will i kill the bike with that 40 ft step up.

The klx300's are reported to have weak frames when it comes to jumping and are prone to crack at the head tube. I would assume the 250 is the same. Just be careful.

+1 bike not really made for the big MX stuff. Do you have experience jumping stuff like that?

Just buy a used 125cc 2stroke to use at the track. Then u wont have to destroy your klx.

How durable are the lights? Taking huge jumps like that... wouldn't that risk breaking the bulb filaments? Kinda moot when talking about breaking frames or blowing the forks... but like everybody else said... the KLX is not a motocross bike, you WILL break it if you botch a landing on a triple.
