Muzzy Mileage Report
I just got back from a 60 mile ride on a mix of gravel roads, freeway and regular 2 lane stuff. I got on it pretty often. The bike was rarely under 5000RPM.
The result... 60mpg!
Again, I'm running the Muzzy full system, Dynojet kit with 128main, 13/45 gearing, 20psi in the tires, I weigh 185 lbs, and there was a 5-10mph cross wind most of the time.
Overall not bad, I might try the 125 main jet and see how that performs. 60mpg is good, but my stock ZX9R would have gotten 55mpg on a similar route (if it was all paved). Although it had better aerodynamics and taller gearing, but almost 4 times the displacement.

Hey Motoguy. Thanks for the report. I'm considering the Muzzy but was concerned about losing MPG. A mechanic friend said that it would actually improve the MPG as long as it was jetted properly. Sounds as though that is the case. I'm still on break in miles(250) and ran out @93 miles the other day. Luckily, I was only 1/2mile from the gas station.
I think I probably could get close to equal mileage if you wanted to run it as lean as it was from the factory and sacrifice some power. But also remember that the quicker throttle response, and the fact that is makes more power and therefore accelerates faster will consume more fuel. See what I'm saying? Even if the engine effeciency is increased, because it's now making more power, if you use that pwoer, you will onsume more fuel.
If I went back to stock gearing and made a throttle stop to limit it to 50% throttle, I'd get the same mileage as a stock bike.
