I didnt buy the expensive DJ kit... i bought all kawasaki parts and did a complete rejet with a new adjustable needle for probably half or less than that DJ cost.

I would doubt that anyone would be able to tell the difference between any needles.

Do you happen to remember the part #'s? I'll just swing by my local Kawi dealer and pick them up..

On the DJ kit, I too believe that the experts are the DJ folks. They run the kit on a dyno, they choose the best parts to make the kit, and they sell the kit. That's why I am buying from them. I follow their advice and use the kit that they made for my bike. If the other needle was better, why wouldn't they use it in the kit? The entire kit was only 55$ delivered, and that includes paying my share for their research effort. Fancy carrying case included and don't forget those stickers!

While you're in there, consider drilling the choke jet out. 0.018"

I hear ya.. Thanks for the heads up on the drilling of the choke. I came across that as well..
Might be a dumb question.. but can I do that with a drill bit? If so, what size would that even be?
