Default Mikuni TM 36-68 BASELINE NEEDED

Guys, i just bought the 36-68 pumper and need a baseline for jetting.
I am at sea level, have a Q4 quiet pipe slip on, and air box cover removed.
Let me know if you have (or had) a similar condition and what you have (had) for jetting please.

Pilot 17.5
main 130
P6 Needle jet
Optional Needle, I don't remember the #.

I was getting almost 60 mpg with this setup and a 351.

I traded in the SF for a Versys, so somebody gets one hellofa bike.

GaryC:
I'd be interested to hear your mileage results, as I get the impression you ride more trails than DavidR. I read so many reports on other sites where the pumper carbs really decrease mileage, but DavidR and a few others here have reported fairly good mileage. Mileage is critical to me for some of the riding I do with over 200 miles between pump stations.

I am hoping to get more than with the stock carb after it is set up properly.
I was only getting 35 to 40mpg withthe stockcarb after rejet in the trails but that was on open sand roads and 2 track where i am abusing the throttle most times.
Im hoping that i don't get a really big hit with the pumper like is on the CRF i used to own. The CV is nice and mellow with power delivery but,,, too mellow for me.

At Sea Level, 55 degrees F - my final settings:
MAIN JET 127.5
NEEDLE JET 585-P-6
JET NEEDLE 9EBY01-51 (position 4) - 4th from the top
PILOT JET 22.5
PILOT AIR JET 1.0
MIXTURE SCREW 2 TURNS OUT
PUMPER NOZZLE SPLASHING OFF NEEDLE
PUMPER STARTS AT 1/8 THROTTLE AND STOPS AT 3/4

I had to richen the pilot/idle band, lean out the midrange and WOT
17.5 pilot jet was not rich enough to take the lean hesetation out of the 1/4 throttle band, so the 0.7 (smaller) pilot air jet did the trick, as well as raising the needle two notches

I highly recommend this carb!

for a 351 i recommend taking the carb apart and putting a p6 needle jet with 127.5 main jet and 20 idle jet..

once you have the carb in you can switch in and out the needle easily.. 50 needle is a tad leaner than the 51 needle. at sea level, the 50 needle should be fine.. should scream with these basic settings.
