Question Baseline 351 jetting?

Yes I searched - really I did!

After going through countless jetting posts I still did not find a good answer for what I am looking for.

I picked up a used BB pumper carb set up for a 331 to use with my 351 kit on a '09 KLX250SF. I am looking for baseline main jet, pilot jet and needle clip positions to use with my 351 kit. Additional mods will be:

Airbox cover removed
Backfire screen removed
Crankcase vent hole drilled to 1/2" per BB recommendation
FMF full exhaust
aftermarket air filter - Uni? K&N? No-Toil? Any recommendations here?

Unfortunately I must have somehow gotten on Bill's bad side as he won't answer my emails looking for a baseline setting.

Anyone have some suggestions? I almost have all my parts, just waiting on the exhaust and trying to figure out what to use for an air filter and I am good to go.

Thanks,
Michael

Sorry for not answering your email's but I haven't received any thing from you.
The pilot should br 40 & the main should be 142.5 needle middle position this is the jetting that I ship the TM33/34 carbs with.
The bike will run better with the air box lid on when using the TM33/34 carb

Oh wow.. Sorry.. I sent 3 emails and never got a reply or bounced message back.

Thanks for the info.. Why will the bike run better with the air box lid on?

Thanks,
Michael

I don't know why but the TM33/34 carb runs better on the bike with the air box lid on & aKDX 200 snorkle.

Okay... I will order one up then..

One more question. Have you experimented with any of the aftemarket filters available for the '09 bikes? Any recommendations on an aftermarket air filter?

Thanks,
Michael
